Dramatis Personae of Nightmare Detective


The Agency of Oneironautic Crimes, AOC, has released the following profiles for the public's records concerning the events that took place in Piccadilly this last winter.

 The AOC has released a formal statement over the cases, but other than a few names of those involved, the case itself has been redacted for privacy reasons.



Detective Inspector Rose Beaumont

Age: 32 
Attended the scene early Monday morning. The Detective Inspector earned her rank some months ago clearing out a supernatural incursion in the East End. Readers may be aware that this same incident saw one officer of the law retired due to injury. Regardless, the AOC seem to hold DI Beaumont in high regard to give her such a high-profile case. The Detective was disinclined to be interviewed.

Sergeant Benjamin Wallace

Age: 43
Was assigned by Superintendent Pearson directly to the site. He and the team under direction from their Detective Inspector Beaumont and the close personal attention of the Superintendent were able to quickly secure and investigate the scene of the crime. Sergeant Wallace is the proud father of four, has a medal of courage for his efforts during the War, and enjoys a good steak-and-kidney pie.




His Grace, Darrien Montague, Duke of Cardigan

Age: 28
Is a key witness in the events that took place on Monday and further events that His Grace would like to keep private for the moment. His Grace has recently renovated his London pent house and many are eager to learn if he will be sitting in Parliment for the summer or staying in Cardigan once more. His Grace still holds the nation's heart as the most eligible bachelor in England.

Professor John Hadigan

Age:41
Prof Hadigan from Aber University was in London on personal business when the case files were announced. Hadigan is Britain's leading expert on the study of supernatural creatures and incursions from outside the realm. Hadigan told the press "You wouldn't believe me if I told you what really happened in Piccadilly." Leading reporters to believe he knows more about the affair than he has let on.

First post for the new year and now we're looking at over a year of blog posts! I'm actually shocked I've made it this long for blogging. Anyway, recently I conducted a poll on twitter to find out which part people found the hardest for writing their manuscript. Unsurprisingly, it was overwhelmingly 'the middle.' I know some folk struggle with the beginning and end, I certainly fall into the 'endings are tough' category and have a tendency to rush them as a result. Why is the middle of a novel so hard?  Would it surprise you to learn that pantsers and plotters alike share this same problem?
